Chase Tigert is a 2006 RHP from Quartz Hill HS in Lancaster, CA, with a 6'5", 200 lb. frame. He has an excellent pitcher's body and looks very projectable. Tigert has a long, extended arm action, with good blance in his delivery and a smooth arm stroke. He gets good late life on a fastball that topped out at 87 mph. Tigert varied the speed and break on his slider between 77 and 82 mph and this was a nice pitch for him. It has tight spin and was short and late. Tigert also showed a nice feel for an upper 70's change up and had some life on this pitch as well. Tigert has a good feel for the ball and with his body and pitching mechanics all his pitches should keep improving in velocity and life. He's a possible big time sleeper who could blossom in a few years. Tigert is a good student who will be attending San Francisco.
