Magdiel Cotto is a 2020 LHP/1B with a 6-3 225 lb. frame from Fort Mill, SC who attends Nation Ford. Big and strong high waisted build, young for the class but the body is pretty mature. High 3/4's arm slot, works downhill with big angle, well paced delivery with a low effort release, clean and loose out front. Consistent upper 80's fastball, topped out at 90 mph, gets good arm side running life at times. Showed good power on a short and tight curveball, developing change up. Tended to nibble at the corners of the plate especially to the glove side, has the stuff to challenge hitters more aggressively. Good student, verbal commitment to South Carolina.
