Mason Howell is a 2023 OF/RHP with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Signal Mountain, TN who attends Signal Mountain. Ran a 7.24 second sixty. Primary outfielder with an average build. Comes and gets the ball well in the outfield fielding it on the side and transferring into a crow hop as he maintains the momentum toward the bag. Showed developing arm strength with a longer arm action getting on top of the ball well. Works in the stretch only with a slide step with runners on base. The arm works on a longer track through the back to a low three-quarters arm slot. Does a nice job getting back on line with the fastball at 69-71 mph with occasional arm side run. Mixed in a short slider in the low 60's playing off the arm side run of the fastball. Changeup provides a change of pace in the mid 60's turning over out of the lower arm slot. Did a nice job finding the zone with each pitch. Right-handed hitter, starts with a narrow base creating little separation pre swing. The bat path gets longer at times getting away from the body early, Impacted the ball best to the opposite field when he gets the arm extended at contact. Very good student.
