Tyler Whitworth is a 2023 1B/RHP/3B with a 6-4 220 lb. frame from Florissant, MO who attends Hazelwood West. Big and physical athletic build. Left handed hitter, hits from a straight spread stance with a simple foot turn trigger and no stride into contact, strong enough to do this and still generate plus bat speed, mid field to pull side approach, has loft in his swing and good barrel control, ball comes off the barrel hard. Runs well for his size, 7.18 in the sixty. Footwork is sound at first base defensively with soft hands to both sides, plenty of arm strength for the position, will be an asset defensively at first base. Also pitched, works from the stretch with drop and drive mechanics, long and extended arm action, high front side upper body mechanics and an over the top arm slot. Fastball topped out at 84 mph, mostly straight with some downhill angle. Curveball was his go to pitch, throws a hard 12/6 downer breaking ball that he showed good feel for and the ability to land for strikes. Two-way talent. Outstanding student. Named to the National Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
