Sam Schaeffer is a 2023 1B/3B with a 6-2 205 lb. frame from Chapel Hill, NC who attends Durham Academy. Big and strong build, especially in the lower half. Right handed hitter, hits from a narrow stance with a nice and simple load and shift into contact, has the ability to repeat his timing and swing mechanics, strength driven swing with some uphill plane, mid field to pull side contact with good carry when he can back spin the ball, projects well as a hitter. 7.93 runner in the sixty. Has put in the work at first base and is a pretty polished defensive player at his age, good footwork on his turns and throws, makes accurate throws. Very good student.
