Nicholas Schmit is a 2020 C/1B with a 6-0 205 lb. frame from Redondo Beach, CA who attends Redondo Union. Ran an 8.23 second sixty-yard dash. Big frame behind the plate with feet that gain ground to second base well. Gets vertical out of crouch before delivering throws at 72 miles per hour to the bag. Throws from a low three-quarters slot at first base, getting it out quick with throws to bags at 71 miles per hour. Lengthy movements with developing athleticism. Switch hitter. Very spread and slightly open stance and rotational lower half from the left side of the plate. Quick hands to the baseball and a slightly lifted barrel plane. Flashing good barrel feel. Stays more narrow from right side of the plate with more of a line drive barrel plane. Currently better tools from the left side of the plate. Good student.
