Landon O'Dell is a 2023 RHP/SS with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Rougemont, NC who attends Northern Durham. Recorded 7.59 second sixty-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher moves with a full wind up and a short side step into a middle of the body leg lift as he rides the back side down the mound showing good lateral movement to the plate. O’Dell has a good release point and keeps the fastball down with arm side run action while topping 84 mph. He also flashed a couple of good breaking balls that have a good, tight spin in addition to rotation and depth while developing release point for the off speed. Also took groundballs in the infield showcasing good athleticism and a strong arm with smooth actions throwing 85 mph across the diamond. Right-handed hitter steps to the plate with a slightly open stance and has a short, compact swing into the ball with good barrel control. O’Dell works the ball gap-to-gap with good impact off the barrel as he’s developing backspin on the ball. Excellent student.
