Jack DuMont is a 2022 LHP/1B with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Wildwood, MO who attends St. Louis University HS. Primary left-handed pitcher with a tall and athletic frame that has plenty of room to fill out and add strength. Starts from the windup with a small side step to a belt high leg lift. Has good lower half direction down the mound, using drop and drive actions and landing slightly closed before coming across the body at release. Has a short and compact arm stroke with developing arm speed from a lower three-quarter slot. Fastball at 79-82 miles per hour flashes some big arm-side run when the operation is on time. Shows excellent feel for a slider with sweeping action across the zone, and is comfortable locating the mid-60s pitch to both sides of the plate. Generates some swings and misses with that pitch. Shows a change-up with fading action in the zone. Able to throw plenty of strikes with the three-pitch mix and projects well on the mound. Good student. Named to 2020 National Indoor Showcase, Top Prospect List.
