Drew Murray is a 2022 LHP/1B with a 6-2 205 lb. frame from Crown Point, IN who attends Andrean. Large and strong build especially given his age, filled out frame. Ran a 7.84 second 60 yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, short arm action up to a low 3/4 arm slot, compact delivery that stays online, balanced throughout getting good use from his lower half but could still get more for added velocity jump, lower half gets down the mound before the arm does, works slowly while having an idea on the mound. Fastball was the only pitch he threw during this outing, topped out at 80 mph, should develop an offspeed pitch for added effectiveness. Secondary first baseman, developing hands out in front, bounces off of the bag nicely on turns to second, showed arm strength from the first base bag that will continue to improve as he matures. Lefthanded hitter, high hand set, stiff stance to start, leg kick trigger, loosens up into swing, downhill swing plane, developing barrel skills, leg kick gets him off with timing, could utilize the lower half more into swing, should continue to improve with development.
