Matthew Perez is a 2023 SS/RHP with a 5-10 158 lb. frame from Orlando, FL who attends The First Academy. Medium frame with slender, athletic build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.64 seconds. Graded out best in this event on the mound, hands over head into methodical windup, releases from three quarters slot with good extension, creates angle to the plate, fastball worked 78-82 mph with good arm side life, slider showed good bite, pounded the zone. Hits from upright, even-based stance with high back elbow, inside path, some length to stroke, showed contact skills the opposite way. Worked out in the infield, quick to the ball, gathers cleanly, shows range, clocked up to 81 mph on throws.
