Charlie Marcantel is a 2023 C/RHP, 3B, SS, UT with a 5-6 140 lb. frame from Peyton, CO who attends Vista Ridge. Slender build with room to fill out. Ran a 7.53 second sixty-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary catcher. Uses a low even start with confident receiving actions. Showed good footwork from behind the plate gaining ground well into throws. Flashed developing transfers and releases into throws with good arm strength posting a 2.07 second pop time and topping out at 68 miles per hour from behind the plate. Also worked out in the infield. Flashed quick footwork with good range to both sides of the infield. Showed clean glove actions in the infield including a confident backhand. Displayed good arm strength across the infield topping out at 71 miles per hour. In the infield showed deliberate closing actions working to and through the baseball with confident two handed fielding actions. Flashed good arm strength from the outfield topping out at 73 miles per hour. Right handed hitter. Employs a even stance with a leg lift trigger and a high hand and back elbow set up. Utilizes a rotational approach looking to create contact to the opposite field. Flashed the ability to turn the barrel with good bat speed creating solid pull side contact when on time and squared. Good student.
