Cristien Banda is a 2022 1B/LHP with a 5-7 135 lb. frame from Lakewood, CA who attends Richard Gahr. Young, square shouldered build with a lean and projectable build and has room to fill throughout and grow moving forward. Ran a 9.02 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, takes shorter steps coming off the bag, fields out front with a clean transfer, shorter arm stroke through the back, shows carry to throws and accuracy when on top of throws, stays low through actions. Also pitched, gets tall on backside with a leg lift up to belt, lands slightly closed with front side down the mound. Shorter arm action through the back working to a three-quarters release point; fastball topped out at 69 mph with occasional sink when on top. Pitches to contact and mixes curveball up to 54 mph. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing at the plate. Full wing path through the zone, strides open with front side and occasionally mistimed. Shows ability to work to the opposite field, bat speed projects with additional strength, creates extension out front.
