Raymond Castillo Il is a 2021 C/OF, UT with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from San Diego, CA who attends High Tech-Chula Vista. Compact frame with a lean build. Frame projects for additional strength. Primary catcher with smooth paced footwork while gaining ground towards the bag. Received the baseball with two hands and worked through exchange with a loose glove circle. Released from a three-quarters slow generated some carry to the bag at 65 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a spread, even stance and simple front side trigger. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Clean hand path to baseball with a slightly lifted barrel plane through extension. Flashed good feel for the barrel while working to the middle of the field and opposite field gap. Outstanding student.
