2023 Fall Midwest Workout Showcase
Max Leno is a 2025 SS/RHP, 2B, 3B, MIF, UT with a 5-11 145 lb. frame from Robins, IA who attends John F Kennedy. Recorded a 7.85 second sixty yard dash time. Lean, compact frame. Primary shortstop, bouncy feet with a clean funnel to the chest, some snatch to the hands on the backhand. Throws were accurate to the bag. Right-handed pitcher works from a staggered stance with a big coil working front knee toward third base before uncoiling and bringing arm through from a lower three- quarter arm slot. Tough slot to pick up the curveball (2081 RPM) with 11-5 shape and more slurvy movement and working it low in the zone. The fastball (2096 RPM) has some arm-side run and life and was 76-77 throughout the bullpen. Change-up (1477 RPM) has some arm-side fading life. Looks like he attacks right-handed hitter on the hands with the fastball and spins the curveball away for outs and weak contact. Right-handed hitter starts from an even base and a high hand set with a high back elbow, utilizes a quick step and stride forward into contact. Gets weight on the backside and coils and uncoils well. Gets hands on plane and fires barrel through the zone with a flat bat path that was able to work line drives to the pull-side. Exciting player with upside. Excellent student. Named to the 2023 Fall Midwest Workout Showcase Top Prospect List.
