Lucas Lees is a 2023 1B/RHP, 3B with a 5-9 185 lb. frame from Rancho Palos Verdes, CA who attends Palos Verdes. Medium, broad shouldered frame with present strength throughout frame. Ran an 8.80 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, fields the ball out front and glove plays, comes off the bag well and will continue to refine overall footwork, funnels into a short arm stroke through the back, accurate throws across the diamond and arm strength will continue to develop. Also pitched, turned step moving into a leg lift up to belt, strides on line coming down the mound and works to a three-quarters release point with a long arm action in the back. Fastball topped out at 71 mph, can incorporate additional lower half into drive, mixed an 11-5 shaped curveball for strikes at 59 mph. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow in the box; utilizes a hanging leg lift trigger for timing at the plate. Handsy swing and shows nice fluidity through the zone with a long swing path. Incorporates strength well and shows carry off the barrel when squared with back spin to pull side, gets the barrel to the ball.
