Devin Blayney is a 2022 SS/RHP, 2B, OF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Lees Summit, MO who attends Lee's Summit North. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build. Rn a 7.16 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, shows actions with the glove out front at the ball, deliberate tempo to actions and can quicken, compact arm action through the back, some quickness to arm and works through the ball once underway. Similar arm action in the outfield, sound footwork with a smooth transfer, shows present arm strength on throws. Also pitched, wide side step at start of delivery with a leg lift up above belt, lands online with strike foot, repeats delivery. Works to a three-quarters release point, will continue to refine consistent release point, worked around the plate with fastball up to 79 mph, competes and mixed a curveball with 11-5 shape. Righthanded hitter, begins with a square stance in the box and utilizes a hanging leg lift trigger for timing at the plate. Linear barrel path through the zone, shows ability to go the other way with comfort, contact oriented approach with developing strength, incorporates lower half well and stays direct to the ball with hands.
