Oliver Laufman is a 2019 RHP with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Kirkland, WA who attends Lake Washington HS. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength to build. Ran a 7.13 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, simple side step moving into delivery and utilizes a hip turn at top; lands open with strike foot coming down the mound with some drop and drive in lower half mechanics. Full and quick arm stroke through the back working to a three-quarters release point. Creates some deception with release and shows running life to arm side on fastball, topped out at 84 mph. Able to miss bats when working on top of ball and generating plane, shows ability to challenge hitters in. Slider showed best at higher velocities with tight rotation and short tilt, inconsistent release but shows potential with the pitch; flashed a changeup at 77 mph. Very good student.
