Hayden Gaffney is a 2019 MIF with a 5-8 155 lb. frame from Springfield, OR who attends Springfield HS. Medium frame with a lean build. Primary shortstop with deliberate footwork while surrounding the baseball. Funnels the baseball from a slightly deeper position and works through exchange with fluidity. Flashed some range to each side with the ability to throw while on the run. Primarily released from a low three-quarters slot producing accurate carry to the bag at 74 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an open stance. Utilized a simple, repeatable swing plane with a mid field approach. Barrel stays in the zone well through extension and flashed the ability to create line drive contact to all fields. Good student as well.
