Antonio Torres is a 2022 RHP/MIF with a 6-0 166 lb. frame from El Paso, TX who attends Montwood. Medium frame with plenty of time to fill out and add strength. Primary right-handed pitcher with a simple repeatable delivery, in sync hand break and a loose three-quarters arm slot. Showed the ability to command both sides of the plate with full mix, sequencing well to both right-handed and left-handed hitters. Fastball worked in the 78-84 mile per hour range, showing downhill plane when on top and ability to expand the zone. Mixed in two versions of his breaking ball with the slider further along at present, showing hard horizontal tilt and the ability to land fairly well. Slower curveball shows potential with 11-to-5 shape and depth through the zone. Secondary middle infielder with a fundamentally sound defensive skill set, showing clean footwork and glove actions with accurate throws recorded up to 81 miles per hour. Right-handed hitter with a spread out stance, high hand set and high back elbow. Middle-of-the field approach with present bat speed, feel for the barrel and power potential to the pull-side when he turns the barrel. Plenty of projection remaining with solid present tools, will continue to improve with additional strength and maturity. Good Student. Named to the 2020 Perfect Game Sunshine South Top Prospect List.
