Maimu Kobayashi is a 2018 RHP/UT with a 5-7 165 lb. frame from Nagoya, AI who attends Meijyo University Senior HS. Shorter athletic build with some present strength. Works from the stretch, early arm takeaway with lots of extension in back, busy delivery with some deception, repeats his check points well. Upper 70's fastball, topped out at 80 mph, fastball mostly straight with occasional running and sinking life. Shows good feel for a mid-60's curveball with some depth, throws strikes with both pitches and works to contact. Good athlete, 7.01 in the sixty, has quick feet and good actions both in the infield and outfield, gets rid of the ball quickly with sound footwork. Right handed hitter, upper body rotational swing, line drive swing plane, has some hand quickness from a deep hand load. Solid all around athlete with lots of skills.
