Dana Eickenhorst is a 2018 C/RHP with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Clarksville, OH who attends Clinton-Massie HS. Medium frame with an athletic build. Frame projects for additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Primary catcher with a low, side set stance while receiving the baseball. Gains ground while working out of crouch. Quick glove circle while working through transfer and released from a compact three-quarters slot. Throws produced accurate carry to the bag topping at 75 miles per hour, best workout pop time of 1.98. Right handed hitter with a spread, even stance. Compact hand load with slight coil and works to the plate with slightly linear actions. Loose hand path to baseball with a line drive plane through extension. Primarily looked to work between the gaps with a line drive approach, but flashed the barrel control to work the other way as well. Also pitched working exclusively from the stretch. Compact arm action and released from a near over top slot. Generated some downhill tilt through the zone with slight run to arm side in the mid to upper 70's, topped at 79 miles per hour. Showed good feel for a 10/4 curveball that had loose spin with occasional depth. Also flashed a changeup offering that showed late fade to arm side in the low 70's. Good student as well.
