Kodai Morikuni is a 2019 SS/ with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Scarsdale, NY who attends Scarsdale Senior. Medium frame with slender, athletic build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.47 seconds. Hit from spread, even-based stance with toe tap trigger, bars back into load, stays compact with hands through the zone, creates slightly uphill plane to stroke, middle-pull approach with present bat speed, showed ability to work the ball into the air. Worked out in the infield, waits back on the ball, stays balanced through footwork and can move laterally to both sides, fields clean and gets off quickened release, clocked up to 78 mph on throws. Very good student.
