Chase Garvin is a 2021 3B/RHP, 1B, OF with a 6-0 156 lb. frame from Wilton, IA who attends Wilton. Medium frame with a lean build and wiry strength. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary third baseman with clean, smooth paced footwork while ranging for and rounding the baseball. Funnels the baseball well and worked through exchange efficiently. Displayed developing arm strength at released creating softer carry to the bag at 72 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, open stance and compact front side stride. Stays on back side and works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Loose hand path to baseball with a lifted barrel plane through extension. Showed developing feel for the barrel while employing a mid field approach. Created best jump off the barrel when connecting with baseball out front. Also pitched utilizing a compact side step to full over head delivery. Works to the plate with drop and drive lower half actions. Clean arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball came out of hand created some downhill plane with occasional run in the upper 60's. Curveball showed proper shape with some depth in the low 50's. Also flashed a changeup offering with some sink to the bottom of the zone. Tends to slow arm speed slightly with changeup offering. Excellent student.
