Shane Mitchell is a 2018 OF/RHP, 3B with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Centennial, CO who attends Heritage. Large frame with an athletic build. Frame projects for additional strength. Ran a 7.28 sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with smooth paced footwork while closing to the baseball. Clean glove actions while funneling and working through exchange. Medium arm circle and released from a high three-quarters slot. Created accurate carry to the bag topping at 80 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and high back elbow set. Stays on back side and works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Inside hand path to baseball with a level plane through extension. Primarily looked to work the ball to the middle of the field on a line, but flashed the present barrel feel to work the other way as well. Also pitched showing a simple rock step to medium leg lift delivery. Creates coil over back leg at gather and lands in line with the plate at finish. Quick arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball flashed some arm side run with occasional sink in the mid 70's, topped at 78 miles per hour. Curveball had 11/5 shape with with good spin and solid depth. Also showed a slider that had 9/4 shape with tighter spin and sharper tilt to glove side. Consistently filled the strike zone and attacked hitters with each pitch. Good student as well.
