Ryan Smith is a 2021 SS/C with a 5-8 145 lb. frame from Apex, NC who attends Cardinal Gibbons HS. Recorded a 7.61 second 60-yard dash time. Medium frame with long limbs and room to fill out upon physical maturity. Primary shortstop with good lateral agility. Quickness to actions with deliberate actions. Two handed fielder with multiple steps to go and field the ball. Reads hops well and fields the ball out in front. Currently developing arm strength. Righthanded hitter with a spread open stance. Deeper hand load with a high hand set and high back elbow. Longer swing path to contact with a leg lift trigger into contact. Consistent line drive contact to all fields and repeated the swing well. Upright start with hands close to the body and was consistently on time. Excellent student.
