Evan Lewis is a 2021 C/OF with a 5-8 155 lb. frame from Elizabeth, PA who attends Elizabeth Forward HS. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill, shows present strength. Ran a 7.34 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, slight turn in crouch, comes out and gains some ground with lower half, upright release with quick exchange, short arm action on throws down to second base, upright release against tall front side, receives the ball out front, arm strength will continue to develop. From the outfield takes short steps to the ball, fields out front, similar compact arm action and shows accuracy on throws, getting on top will help develop additional carry to throws. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high and tight hand set and back elbow, weight begins on front side and loads well to back before moving into contact. Strides on line, upper body dominant swing, stays short to the ball and generates lift out front when extended. Works the middle and pull side parts of the field with occasional back spin when on time. Excellent student.
