Ben Collins is a 2020 LHP/OF with a 5-11 150 lb. frame from Valparaiso, IN who attends Chesterton HS. Slender young build, lots of room to get stronger. High effort delivery he repeats well, full quick quick arm action leading to a high 3/4's arm slot that created downhill angle. Fastball topped out at 80 mph, gets good arm side running life at times. Curveball shows tight spin and some 1/7 depth to it, developing change up. Worked down in the zone well and pitches aggressively. Front side tended to pull off early as he threw more and more pitches causing his arm to be late at times. Left handed hitter, hits from a closed stance with an opposite field approach. 7.51 runner, showed clean actions in the outfield and made accurate throws. Should keep improving as he gets stronger and more physically mature. Good student.
