Johnathan Catalano is a 2020 C/OF with a 5-6 125 lb. frame from Staten Island, NY who attends Tottenville. Compact frame with a lean build. Frame projects to support additional strength while continued physical maturity. Ran a 7.34 sixty-yard dash. Primary catcher with a low, even stance while receiving the baseball. Gains ground while working out of crouch with sound footwork. Quick, clean exchanges while working through transfer and released form a compact three-quarters arm slot. Baseball came out of hand clean with softer, accurate carry to the bag. Right handed hitter with a slight crouched, even stance. Loose, level path to contact with a line drive barrel plane through extension. Showed good feel for the barrel primarily working the ball to the middle of the field. Flashed the barrel control to manipulate bat head and work to all fields as well. Tools will continue to develop with physical maturity.
