Jon Jenkins is a 2020 1B/OF with a 6-1 200 lb. frame from Olathe, KS who attends Olathe West. Large frame with present strength in build and broad shoulders. Ran a 7.01 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary first baseman. Plays below the ball with soft hands while fielding. Has quick turns when transitioning to throws. Topping out at 79 miles per hour with online carry to the bags. Also worked out as a secondary outfielder. Short strides closing to the ball. Deeper funnel out front with a clean transfer. Easy actions in back with developing arm strength topping out at 80 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a narrow stance and high hand set. Utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing. Fluid swing path with loud contact. Creates leverage with consistent rising line drives off the barrel to the gaps. Righthanded pitcher with a small rocker step to start and a high leg lift. Easy delivery from a three-quarters slot. Fastball shows slight arm side and short sinking movement at 78 miles per hour. Mixes in a loose spinning slider with some short depth as well. Excellent student.
