Thomas Temple is a 2018 1B/RHP with a 6-3 240 lb. frame from Oceanside, CA who attends Cathedral Catholic. Large frame with broad shoulders, long limbs and a solid build. Primary first baseman deliberate footwork while centering the baseball. Funnels the baseball from a deeper position with developing fluidity. Loose arm circle at take back at released from a three-quarters slot. Throws generating some carry across the infield with accuracy topping at 69 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a spread, slightly open stance and high back elbow set. Stays balanced throughout swing with rotational lower half actions. Direct path with a line drive plane through extension. Generated some lift when working through baseball out front and flash solid strength at contact. Primarily worked to the middle of the field and flashed good jumped off the barrel when working through the zone with fluidity. Also pitched working exclusively from the stretch. Utilizes a compact arm stroke from a three-quarters slot. Lands on a stiff front side and carries momentum to the plate. Worked fastball to each edge of the plate well and generating some downhill angle through the zone, topped at 78 miles per hour. Flashed two planes with a slider offering that had solid speed and good sweep to glove side. Showed very good feel for slider offering and released from a deceptive arm slot that matched fastball. Consistently filled the strike zone and change speeds well effectively keeping hitter off balance. Very good student as well.
