CJ Lyons is a 2018 2B with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Clinton, MD who attends St Stephen's & St Agnes. Medium, athletic frame with present strength to frame, has additional room to fill moving forward. Ran a 6.89 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, light actions on feet with long strides to the ball, fields with a wide base, shorter arm stroke and does a nice job to get on top of the ball, extra step upon release, nice arm strength and carry on accurate throws across the diamond. Righthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing. Wraps barrel at start but shows bat speed through the zone, shortening load will help with consistency. Generates nice torque with hips, full swing path, middle approach when on time. Has tools to continue to improve upon. Good student.
