Nick Mesquita is a 2022 OF/RHP with a 5-9 140 lb. frame from Allen, TX who attends Allen HS. Slender young build, lots of time and room to get stronger. Right handed hitter, hits from a spread stance with a calm load and good direction to contact, has sound mechanics and a good base to build from as he matures physically, middle of the field line drive approach with good barrel control. 7.52 runner, same type of solid fundamentals and mechanics defensively in the outfield, has good footwork and a quick release, good momentum into his throws with developing arm strength. Also pitched, over the top arm slot with an on line delivery, smooth overall mechanics. Fastball topped out at 75 mph, mostly straight. Curveball was his best pitch, showed good feel for the pitch and could throw it at any count for strikes. Very sound fundamental player who just needs to get stronger. Excellent student.
