Kaleb Johnson is a 2023 RHP/OF with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from Newington, GA who attends South Effingham. He ran a 7.16 second sixty. A primary right-handed pitcher with a medium lean build. On the mound he he starts with a side step up to a high leg lift, he showed a full arm action working up to a high three-quarters arm slot, lands slightly closed as he comes down the mound with some cross fire actions to the plate, he worked the fastball primarily to the arm side in the 76-80 mph range as the ball comes out of the hand clean, mixed in a curveball with 12-6 shape when he gets on top of it with some feel for the spin. In the outfield he showed a strong arm with a whippy arm action topping out at 87 mph, he does a nice job keeping the throws down with accuracy to the bases. Right-handed hitter, starts with an open stance and wider base, he showed some rhythm to the swing working well up the middle to the pull side with a loud double to left center field in game action. Very good student. Named to the 2020 Fall Southeast Showcase Top Prospects List.
