Dawson Overby is a 2021 OF/RHP with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Mansfield, TX who attends Martin. Long and athletic with room to fill throughout. Recorded a 7.12 second 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, worked out in the outfield with long strides and an aggressive close to the ball, fields off the front foot, clean funnels, long arm circle but gets on top of throws well, keeps throws low and on line with good carry. Secondary right-handed pitcher, quick-paced delivery with drop and drive actions, quick arm through a three-quarters slot, slight cut to the fastball, mixes in a breaking ball that varies between curveball and slider action, feel for changeup as well in mid-70s, overall gets outs and projects to added velocity. Right-handed hitter, stands tall and starts slightly open, simple load, shifts well into contact with good intent in the swing, stays short and simple to the ball with a slightly lifted barrel plane and good juice off impact when squared to the pull side. Good student.
