Jared Cohen is a 2022 SS/2B with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Armonk, NY who attends Byram Hills. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and present physical strength in frame, additional room to fill. Ran a 7.01 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, fields the ball out front, works mostly to a higher slot on throws across and shows ability to drop lower when needed, works through the ball with an extra step through the ball, carry on throws across the diamond with accuracy. Righthanded hitter, begins with an even stance and utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing, can incorporate additional lower half moving into mechanics. Has strength in hands and creates lift through the zone with a longer swing path. Gets to front side early at times, does a nice job of generating extension out front and finds the barrel, quickness to hands with carry coming off when squared. Very good student. Verbal commitment to Army.
