Jacob Davis is a 2017 1B/OF with a 6-1 205 lb. frame from Carbon, TX who attends Eastland. Large front with a strong build. Ran a 7.50 sixty-yard dash. Primary first baseman, centers the baseball well and funnels baseball from a slightly deeper position. Works through exchanges clean and released from a low three-quarters arm slot. Topped at 73 miles per hour producing accurate carry across the infield. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing smooth, deliberate footwork while closing to the baseball. Clean glove actions while working through transition with smooth paced glove to hand exchanges. Released from a low three-quarters slot produced uphill carry to the bag. Right handed hitter with a spread, even stance and toe tap trigger. Creates slight coil with top half at load prior to lower half working to contact with rotational actions. Loose, extended plane with an uphill barrel plane through extension. Primarily looked to throw barrel head out front and work to the pull side gap. Good student as well.
