Derek Blackmore is a 2021 1B/LHP with a 5-11 200 lb. frame from Kansas City, MO who attends Rockhurst HS. Recorded an 8.39 second 60-yard dash time. Large frame with a strong present build that's well-proportioned throughout. Primary first baseman who's hands work well on either side. Clean transfers to the throwing hand with currently developing arm strength. Secondary lefthanded pitcher with a short arm stroke and lands slightly open. Over the top arm slot with a hands over head pump into the leg lift. Cuts off momentum at foot strike and mixed in a breaking ball. Lefthanded hitter with a toe tap trigger into the swing. Swings with intent with a wide strike and hands load late. High hand set with a high back elbow and some strength at the point of impact. Good student.
