Mason Barnes is a 2026 3B/RHP, C, IF, OF with a 5-8 155 lb. frame from Winnsboro, TX who attends Harmony. Medium, square shouldered frame with long limbs and lean build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran an 8.09 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, waits back on the ball, fields it out front with two hands, full arm action on throws across the diamond, can continue to incorporate additional footwork coming through the ball, will continue to refine overall actions. Similar arm action on throws from the outfield, tends to get uphill at times, fields the ball out front. Also pitched, worked exclusively out of the stretch, short stride coming down the mound with a full arm action through the back working to an extended three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 70 mph, creates some sinking life to it down in the zone and works on top of the ball often. Able to get some weak contact, curveball showed weeping action up to 567 mph, tends to get on the side of ball at release, flashed a changeup at 64 mph. Right-handed hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Stays shorter to the ball and shows looseness to overall swing, loads hands back at start, creates occasional lift out front. Gets mistimed occasionally with front foot, flashes carry off the barrel, high finish through point of contact. Very good student.
