Barrett Barkley is a 2021 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Macon, GA who attends First Presbyterian Day. Large frame with athletic, projectable build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.24 seconds. Primary righthanded pitcher, side step into high leg lift to initiate, compact arm stroke through the back up to high three quarters slot, drives off lower half well but directionality is inconsistent, creates plane, quick arm, fastball worked 82-85 mph with good life and sink. Showed curveball with 11/5 shape and good depth, attacked hitters and threw strikes. Toe tap trigger at the plate, middle field approach, quick hands from launch, could separate a bit more, consistently squared the ball up and found the barrel, went up both gaps, quality projection at the plate. Took defensive reps in the infield, sits back, deeper hand funnel, clocked up to 81 mph on throws. Excellent student, named to 2019 Sunshine Southeast Top Prospect List.
