Matthew Moreno is a 2018 OF/SS with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Burbank, CA who attends Burbank. Medium frame with an athletic build. Projects for additional strength. Primary outfielder with smooth paced, deliberate footwork while closing to the baseball. Developing glove actions while funneling and working through transfer. Compact arm circle at separation and released from a three-quarters arm slot. Throws produced uphill carry to the bag topping at 76 miles per hour. Also worked out defensively from the infield showing similar deliberate footwork while rounding the baseball. Funnels the baseball front a deeper position and released from a three-quarters arm slot. Throws showed some carry to the bag with developing accuracy. Right handed hitter with an upright, open stance and high back elbow set. Stays on back side and works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Inside path to contact with a level, line drive plane through extension. Primarily looked to work the baseball to the middle of the field and opposite field gap. Good student.
