Charlie Walsh is a 2023 SS/RHP, MIF, OF with a 5-7 145 lb. frame from Lexington, MA who attends Lexington. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.46 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, fields the ball out front with a wide base, shows a quick transfer out of glove and quick release, works on top of throws and shows accuracy across with some carry. Also pitched, short arm action through the back with a tight release rom a high three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 78 mph, mostly true in life and mixed both a changeup with sinking life at 71 mph and a curveball up to 67 mph which will continue to develop. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate, shows balance and rhythm in the box. Repeats swing well, gets the barrel out front and shows a handle for it, stays compact with quickness to hands. Works the middle and pull side parts of the field, projects with added strength. Excellent student.
