John Hanley is a 2018 3B/1B, RHP, C with a 6-3 230 lb. frame from San Francisco, CA who attends St. Ignatius College Preparator. Large frame with broad shoulders and present strength. Ran a 7.30 sixty-yard dash. Primary third baseman with smooth paced footwork while surrounding the baseball. Flashed good first step angles with developing range to each side. Clean glove actions with fluid exchanges. Primarily released from a three-quarters slot but flashed the athleticism to throw with accuracy while on the run and change arm slots. Right handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance. Lower half works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Loose, extended path to contact with a line drive barrel plane through extension. Present bat speed and swung with the intent to drive the baseball with authority. Consistently turned the bat head to contact and generated solid jump off the barrel to the pull side gap throughout batting practice. Good student as well.
