Trey Chapman is a 2019 SS/2B with a 6-0 181 lb. frame from Culloden, WV who attends Cabell Midland HS. Medium frame with a strong, athletic build. Frame projects for additional size and strength with continued physical maturity. Ran 7.33 sixty-yard dash. Primary shortstop with compact, direct footwork while funneling the baseball out front. Flashed athletic feet while ranging for the baseball to each side. Clean glove actions and works throws transfer quickly with efficient exchanges. Released from a compact three-quarters arm slot creating accurate carry across the infield topping at 78 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a spread, even stance and simple front side trigger. Rotational lower half actions to contact with occasional shift. Simple, direct line drive path and plane through extension. Primarily worked to the middle of the field but showed the balance and barrel skills to hit to all fields as well. Good student.
