Reece Arbogast is a 2021 LHP/1B, OF with a 5-6 145 lb. frame from Sioux Falls, SD who attends O'Gorman. Compact frame with a lean build. Projects for additional strength with continued physical maturity. Primary left handed pitcher with a a simple side step to medium leg lift delivery. Stays tall and balanced on back side at gather and works to the plate with tall and fall actions. Loose, clean arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball jumped out of hand cleanly producing some run to arm side with sink in the mid 70's, topped at 76 miles per hour. Curveball had 2/8 shape with solid spin and late depth in the upper 60's. Maintained arm speed with breaking ball creating good deception to hitters. Consistently repeated mechanics and flashed good feel to each edge of the plate. Also worked out defensively from first base showing smooth, sound footwork while traveling to and centering the baseball. Clean glove actions while funneling and flashed the ability to throw on the run. Primarily released from a three-quarters slot generated soft, accurate carry across the infield at 72 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a spread, even stance and simple front side trigger. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Simple, direct hand path to baseball with a line drive plane through extension. Consistently barreled up baseball throughout batting practice and flashed the barrel feel to work to all fields when maintaining balance at contact. Tools will continue to develop with maturity and repetition. Excellent student.
