Bryan Castro is a 2007 right handed pitcher/shortstop from Riverside California with a good, projectable young body at 6 ft. 1 170 pounds. He pitches from a high 3/4 slot with quick tempo to his delivery. He has a compact arm action with a small circle in back and a very quick arm. His fastball explodes out of his hand at 88 mph with good armside run at times. His 74 mph curveball showed very good action and depth when he stays on top of it. He throws a change at 78 mph with a sinking action that was very effective down in the zone. He mixes his pitches well and showed great poise and skill for a sophomore. He is very projectable and is a highest level prospect with very high draft potential for 2007. Bryan is a good student.
