Ryan Lay is a 2018 MIF with a 5-10 140 lb. frame from Waynesville, OH who attends Waynesville HS. Medium frame with slender, projectable present build; good room to fill remaining. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.28 seconds. Sets up to hit from upright, even-based stance with deep and high hand load. Leg lift trigger, brings lower half well into swing, will drift onto front leg at times, line drive swing plane, showed ability to work to all fields with developing power--will drive the ball better as he continues to add strength to frame. Worked out in the infield, shows range to both sides with developing fluidity in footwork, bends well at waist and shows solid hand actions out front. Overtop arm slot, clocked up to 70 mph across the diamond. Good student.
