Calvin Robertson is a 2022 OF/C, UT with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Laurens, SC who attends Laurens Academy. Medium frame with slender, athletic build; ran really well, clocking a 6.59 second 60 yard dash time. Hits from open stance with high back elbow, negative stride, inside-out path with hands, wants to keep hands locked inside the baseball, makes contact in the opposite direction, speed plays on bases, showed ability to get the barrel out pull-side in game. Worked out in the outfield, quickness on display, works through the ball well and gets there quickly, fields cleanly, transfers well and gets off quick release, clocked up to 72 mph. Also took reps behind the plate, pops out of crouch and takes several steps forward into release, stays connected through arm stroke, clocked up to 72 mph as well from this position. Excellent student.
