Stephen "Cole" Sammons is a 2019 2B/RHP/3B with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Jackson, TN who attends University School Of Jackson. Medium build and frame, athleticism, and room to continue to fill out physically and add strength. Posted a 7.15 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary middle infielder, fielded the ball out front, developing footwork to the ball, and showed ability to change slots on the move. At the plate, started with an upright stance, open base, high back elbow, and a larger leg lift timing mechanism. Active hand set into swing with over-shifted weight onto front side. Pull side approach with raw ability to match plane. Developing bat speed at present. Also pitched, showed good deception, stretch only, longer arm action, good direction to the plate, and threw from a low three quarter arm slot. Fastball showed sink and run at 73-80 mph. Slider showed 10/4 shape and flashed tightness at 69 mph. Good student.
