Shaun Wright is a 2018 OF/C with a 5-10 148 lb. frame from Springville, NY who attends Springville Griffith Institute. Medium build, lean, slender frame, athleticism, and room to continue to fill out physically with strength. Posted a 7.31 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary outfielder, slow footwork to the ball, clean transfer, and developing arm strength with accuracy tot he bag. At the plate, started with a tall stance, even base, hand set close to body, and a quick leg lift timing mechanism. Utilized an up the middle approach and used a linear swing plane. Developing bat speed with an inside out swing path. Will continue to improve with age and lower half incorporation. Also pitched, showed a long arm action, big arm circle, drop and drive element, and lower effort at release. Fastball worked 65-72 mph with mostly true action and mixed in a curveball at 61 mph with 12/6 shape. Good student.
