Max Almond is a 2018 2B/UT with a 5-10 130 lb. frame from Elberton, GA who attends Elbert County. Medium frame with slender, athletic present build. Body projects well. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.73 seconds. Hits from closed stance with hands set close to body, stayed committed to the middle of the field through approach and execution, line drive swing plane, was able to work to all fields with success. Worked out defensively in the infield, showed good footwork to both sides when fielding, fields cleanly and shows good quick release across the diamond with throws clocked up to 73 MPH with accuracy. Pitched as well, short and compact arm stroke through the back up to high three quarters arm slot, gets online with hips and lands online as well, fastball worked 67-69 MPH with some life to the arm side. Hides ball well. Threw strikes consistently with fastball and challenged hitters as a result. Very good student.
